I wrote for the Texas Ranger in 1962, when Gilbert Shelton was the Editor and Janis Joplin was a co-conspirator. The Bacchanal was started by Shelton when the whole staff was fired over a bit of art illustrating censorship as prison bars. The bars spelled out several words beginning with "f" and "censorship."
