Revisit a great old Texas tradition!

Are you familiar with The Texas Ranger magazine? If  you're an older UT alum you probably are If you're not an alum you may still find this site entertaining and a little educational. In its hey day between 1959 and 1965 the Texas Ranger was the genesis of some talented creative minds that led the counter culture revolution by pushing the limits of censorship and free speech. (can you say hippie).  Earlier issues feature a lot of great cover art.
In the tradition of Harvard Lampoon and later National Lampoon the Texas Ranger gained notoriety as being a top college satire/humor publication. Frank Stack and Gilbert Shelton, pioneer creators of underground comix, were major contributors and even Janis Joplin had a credit in a couple of issues.
